Selsey Lifeboat Dawn Long Exposure

Selsey Lifeboat Dawn Long Exposure

An early start to capture Selsey Lifeboat Station at Dawn. This is a fairly iconic structure for this area but it is due to be demolished sometime this year so I wanted to get some shots in the bag. The RNLI are getting a new Lifeboat which launches from the beach and cannot afford the £70,000 per year cost of maintaining something which will not be used. This is the second of a sequence of 3 I am posting. This shot was taken soon after dawn on the opposite side from the previous shot. Taken with a B&W 10 stop filter to get the 71 second exposure.

The pictures were taken with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20mm zoom at 15mm. This was a single image taken with a tripod. The picture was first processed in RAW with a little extra Vibrance and clarity. I next tried out the Nik Colour Efex Pro from the now free Nik collection using the Brilliance Warmth preset. I used Photoshop Heal and clone tools to remove the sensor dust spots showing up well on the smooth sky and sea.
