Selsey Lifeboat Station Sun Launch

Selsey Lifeboat Station Sun Launch

An early start this morning to capture Selsey Lifeboat Station at Dawn. Always uncertain but I lucked out with some great colours and clouds. I had used the Photographers Ephemeris to work out where the sun would be rising. This is a fairly iconic structure for this area but remarkably it is due to be demolished sometime this year so I wanted to get some shots in the bag. The RNLI are getting a new Lifeboat which launches from the beach and cannot afford the £70,000 per year cost of maintaining something which will not be used. Some panels in the roof were blown off in Storm Katie which hit Sunday night.

The pictures were taken with a Sony A550 with a Sigma 25-80 zoom at 28mm. This was a single image taken with a tripod. The picture was first processed in RAW with a little extra exposure, Vibrance and clarity. Topaz DeNoise was used and some cropping in Photoshop but basically little processing was needed.
