Mark Cavendish Race Focus

This is a picture of the London Surrey Olympic Test Road Race taken near Box Hill, Surrey UK on 14th August 2011. The race started at The Mall, London, came down to Box Hill Surrey and did 2 circuits of an 8 mile loop including the climb of Box Hill and then returned to London for the finish.

The Olympic Cycling Road race next year will include 9 circuits of the Box Hill loop. There were extensive road closures to test next year’s arrangements.

The deliberate focus of the picture is on the home favourite Mark Cavendish. He went on to win the race later back in London in a sprint up The Mall.
