Wildflower Meadow Poppy Bognor Regis

Wildflower Meadow Poppy Bognor Regis

This shot was taken on my second recent visit to this small area of seeded wildflower meadow a few miles from home next to the seafront at West Park, Bognor Regis. There is an interesting background to this. Starting 2014 the local District Council in association with the Royal British Legion and as part of a national scheme started seeding small areas of public land with poppies and other wildflowers in commemoration of the First World War 100th anniversary. The programme runs from 2014 to 2018. A really nice idea though nobody thought to put up a sign and I found out about the back story through the internet.

The shot was taken into the light about an hour before sunset. The camera used was a Sony A550 with a Sigma 28-80 zoom with a macro function at 80mm. Taken on a Tripod. Not a lot of processing was required. A sing image with a little RAW editing. Then Topaz Clarity for more detail and a slight vignette was added
