Dandelion in Spring Focus

Dandelion in Spring Focus

This shot was taken in my back garden. As I only grow grass and weeds there I decided to give the weeds a chance with this focus stacked image of a dandelion.

The image is formed from a Stack of 16 images all at slightly different focus and stacked in Photoshop. Full details of the focus stacking technique can be found on a Blog entry from last year see - http://edwinjonesphotography.com/blog/2015/2/february-spring-crocus-bloom

The camera used was a Sony A550 with a Sigma 28-80 zoom with a macro function at 80mm. Taken on a mini Tripod. Main processing was first Topaz DeNoise and then Topaz Clarity for more detail concentrating on the dandelion by applying the effect on a duplicate layer with a layer mask. More punch and contrast was added by using unsharp mask with setting of amount 47 and Radius 47 again applied only to the dandelion with a layer mask.
