Descending the Spiral Tate Britain

Descending the Spiral Tate Britain

On my last London trip I revisited the Tate Britain for the first time since 2013 soon after this beautiful new spiral staircase was completed. It is a favourite location for London Photographers so it is hard to get any original viewpoints. Still this is my version of the blurred people going down the stairs shot. If you have not been it is really worth a visit as much for the photography as the art.

The picture was taken handheld with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10 mm. I steadied the camera against the wall. I took 3 shots for HDR but in the end used just the one with RAW editing. I used the plus 2 EV shot for the most blur on the people and broght the exposure down in RAW. I used Topaz DeNoise and Topaz Clarity. I added a slight vignette using just the vignette feature of Topaz Adjust. A little cloning to remove a small light on the top left edge of the picture. More punch was added with a clarity effect using unsharp mask 55 amount and 55 radius.
