Poppies Dawn Bury Hill and Arun Valley (as seen on TV)

Poppies Dawn Bury Hill and Arun Valley (as seen on TV)

This picture which was shown on BBC South Today weather pictures. The program shows a selection of 3 pictures from viewers showing the days weather before the local weather forecast. For the second time this week I went to photograph the Poppy Field on top of Bury Hill overlooking the Arun Valley by the A29. On this occasion the visit was in time for Dawn at 4.48am, yawn. Kutub a friend from the Bognor Camera Club gave me a lift and we could hardly believe our luck when we saw the mist in the valley which is fairly rare this time of year. The image is an HDR, 3 images at different exposures combined in software to get the right detail in the highlights and shadows. There were 7 other photographers there for dawn including one who had come from Hastings. I choose this one to process first for its combination of the the poppies and the time at dawn plus the mist and one of the best views in this part of Sussex. Back home I got the picture on the Computer and sent it straight up to South Today as suitable for weather pictures.
