Bud and Poppy Field

Bud and Poppy Field

This shot was taken at a Poppy Field on the Downs just south of Falmer near Brighton on the West Sussex coast, UK. For full details of the exact location see the first image in this series at https://www.flickr.com/photos/edwinjones/18801022079/in/dateposted-public/

The picture was taken a little over an hour before sunset with great light all during my visit. Processing was mainly in Camera RAW with a little increase in exposure and increased clarity. In Photoshop I cropped for better composition. Although the foreground and background were already very blurred due to the narrow depth of field I also used the lens blur filter and applied it with a layer mask to some areas especially the edges for more blur using a layer mask. I used the viginette feature in Topaz adjust to darken the corners.

I used a narrow depth of field using f5.6 and 80mm to focus on the one bud. The camera used was a Sony A550 with a Sigma 28-80 at 80mm and switched to the Macro Function. Taken with a Tripod.
