This shot was taken in a field about half a mile from home adjoining a footpath. This is not a “proper” Sunflower field but rather the remnants of a farmers attempt to grow them there a few years ago. It is effectively a small area of wasteland due to being too wet from an adjoining reservoir put in by the farmer.

The image is formed from a Stack of 21 images all at slightly different focus and stacked in Photoshop. Although Photoshop can align images to be used for focus stacking it helps if the flower does not blow about too much and the evening I took it was ideal with no noticeable wind.

The image was processed using Topaz Adjust Vibrance Boost plus Topaz Clarity and DeNoise. The camera used was a Sony A550 with a Sigma 28-80 zoom with a macro function at 80mm. Taken on a Tripod.
