Sweetcorn View

Sweetcorn View

This shot was taken in one of the many sweet corn fields in this part of West Sussex coast. The corn was especially high here between 7 and 8 ft. This field is next to a path about a mile from home in Pagham. I wanted to capture the tall sweet corn plants looking straight up and for the widest viewpoint used my Samyang 8mm fisheye lens. The picture was taken by placing the camera down on the ground in the corn, retreating to avoid being in the picture and then triggering the shutter with a wireless remote. 3 images bracketed for HDR at 2EV.

HDR was with Photomatix Fusion Natural settings.

This is a classic example of detail in a shaded foreground while looking into the light which could not be captured by any method other than HDR.

Adjustments were made in Topaz denoise followed by Topaz Clarity. To enhance the detail still more I used a duplicate layer with mask to apply extra sharpening and contrast with low amount and high radius using Unsharp mask (Clarity Effect) The settings were 29 amount and 29 radius.
