Fast Trains to Battersea

Fast Trains to Battersea

Not many pictures taken recently so on yet another day of rain and gales I took to the archives to process this picture taken in 2014. This is taken from Edbury Bridge at the start of a private dead end road where there is a view down the multiple tracks leaving Victoria mainline station heading towards Battersea and the south coast. This is especially interesting for me as I take this line to get home from London. Being taken in March 2014 the old Battersea Power Station is free of the multiple cranes which now adorn it. It was quite hard to compose this shot because of a line of bright street lights just to the right. I used a shutter speed of 1 second to get the train movement. The time of year was just right with twilight being over rush hour and the most trains coming and going.

The picture was taken on a Tripod with a Sony A700 with a Tamron 28-200 zoom lens at 45mm.

Processing started with Raw Edits to control exposure with recovery and black sliders. Topaz clarity was used followed by DeNoise. Topaz Adjust was used to bring up warmer colours. A slight vignette was also applied. I livened up a very dull sky with hue saturation and colour balance adjustment layers applied with layer masks to affect only the sky.
