Sky Garden Roof Shadows

Sky Garden Roof Shadows

Bang up to date with this shot taken yesterday (Monday) I visited London’s newest big attraction, The Sky Garden at the top of the Walkie Talkie skyscraper. It opened only in January. Basically they have turned about the top 4 floors into an enormous open space round the centre column with restaurants, gardens and a balcony viewing area looking towards the South Bank. Visits are free but have to be pre-booked up to 3 weeks in advance online. Being April and a weekday my booking was made only a few days in advance.

This is the very top area and most of the crowds of visitors seem to miss the stairs to this spot. I had it to myself apart from one other photographer who was handily placed in the picture.

The picture was taken with a Sony A700 with a Samyang Fisheye lens at 8mm.The image was processed in Camera Raw followed by Topaz Denoise and Clarity. Mono conversion was done in Topaz BW Effects. I went for a high contrast look.

This place is well worth a visit. I have loaded an album of 11 more pictures with various views all unprocessed to an album on my Facebook Page. See https://www.facebook.com/edwinjonesphoto
You should be able to see the pictures even if you are not on Facebook.
