Time for another Spiral Staircase. I took this one at Canada Water Library in March last year and never got round to posting it. I did however use it as an illustration in my book Understand Your Camera of the problems with always using Auto White Balance. In the original because of mixed daylight and artificial light the wood came out a sickly yellow. I corrected the White Balance in the RAW editing to get the natural tones of the wood. The Library is across the road from the Canada Water Tube Station on the Jubilee Line.

This is only a one storey spiral but it is really made by the deep well and wood

One image edited in RAW. I then edited with Topaz using Topaz Denoise to remove a small amount of noise and then brought up detail with Topaz Clarity. More punch with a clarity effect using unsharp mask 31 amount and 31 radius limited with a layer mask to the nearer areas of wood.
