Infinity Lights Open House

Infinity Lights Open House

Another shot from this years London Open House this time taken on the Sunday. My first visit to this building and definitely a highlight of the weekend. The view is of The Pixel Cloud a light sculpture by Greyworld, a group of London based artists, displayed in the north atrium of Foster and Partners' new office building at One Bishops Square, home to the law firm Allen & Overy. It consists of 624 globes in total which gradually change colour.

This was an example of a building doing Open House really well though it does have the benefit of plenty of space. The tour was self guided with arrows pointing the way and staff placed at strategic points. The result was no queue. There were several large Atriums and a roof terrace and cafe with views over the City. I spent over an hour in the building with 25 minutes in the Pixel Cloud Atrium getting various shots.

The picture was taken handheld with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens at 10mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing for HDR. Outputted in Photomatix using Fusion Real Estate preset for a natural look.
My first edit was to bring more light into some areas by adding the plus 2 EV image as a new layer, masking it off and then adding it back over parts of the image with a white brush at varying opacity. More detail was brought in using Topaz Clarity and noise reduced using Topaz DeNoise. Finally a clarity effect using Unsharp mask and settings of amount 66 and radius 66. This has the effect of bringing in more punch and contrast.
