Sivill House Spiral Down

Sivill House Spiral Down

This is another one from Sivill House in Bethnal Green this time looking down the 19 storeys of this block of flats. This is another block of flats where the entrance is via an entryphone door system so I had to wait a little for somebody to come out. Like George Loveless House this was built in the modernist style and again designed by Berthold Lubetkin.

The picture was taken with a tripod and leaning against the rails to get the viewpoint. Triggered with a remote release while ready to catch the whole setup if it failed. I wanted to get maximup depth of field with a high aperture number. The shot was taken with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20mm lens at 20 mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing processed with Photomatix Fusion Natural setting. I found out today that Google had acquired the Nik collection of high end photo editing software and as from 24th March had made the entire collection permanently free. You do have to cope with a mega download of 400 megabytes plus but my fast fibre internet had no problem. It automatically installs as a plugin to any compatible software or can be used standalone. My first test was of Nik Silver Efex Pro for the mono conversion on this image. The link for NIk is https://www.google.com/nikcollection/

Further editing was adding more punch using unsharp mask amount 44 radius 44 amount and adding a vignette
