Science Museum Electrified

Science Museum Electrified

This is the main Hall of the Science Museum, Kensington London. This is one of the major locations I had missed out on visiting which I put right on my last London Trip. It is a major area for Museum’s being next to the Natural History Museum and across the road from the Victoria and Albert Museum and a few blocks from the Royal Albert Hall. Photography is allowed in the Museum though as usual with no Tripods and no Flash

The picture was taken handheld though resting on a railing with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens at 10mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing processed with Photomatix Fusion Real Estate for a natural look. Noise reduction with Nik Define and more detail with Topaz Clarity. Some tidy up with the heal and clone tools. At this stage I liked the shapes of the ring and the building but found it was too busy with the exhibits on the floor and a lot of people. The solution was Topaz Glow Electric Fibres Preset This was applied with a layer mask in Photoshop and I reduced the effect in the upper levels of the building and removed it entirely from the man leaning on the railing.
