23rd Century London Adams Plaza

23rd Century London Adams Plaza

This was taken on my last day trip to London which included a visit to Canary Wharf. This was my second visit to the new bridge over Adams Plaza but this time during the blue hour when it really does look magnificent. A bit like 23rd Century London in Star Trek into Darkness. The green light globe on the right is a light sculpture, part of Winter Lights which lasts at Canary Wharf until 22nd January. The lights do not spin fast enough for a globe to be visible to the eye but a shutter speed of 1.3 seconds did the trick. The Security Guards around had no problem with my Tripod but that might be because the area was part of the Winter Lights Event where they were expecting Photographers.

The picture was taken on a Tripod with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20mm lens at 10 mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing processed with Photomatix Contrast Optimiser setting for a natural look. A little Noise was removed with Topaz DeNoise. Topaz Clarity was used to bring in more detail. I used a touch of Topaz Glow limited to the bridge with a layer mask to bring it out more.

More punch was added and again only to the bridge with a clarity effect using unsharp mask 51 amount and 51 radius.
