Cabot Square Christmas London
This is a view taken in Cabot Square, Canary Wharf, London looking across a large fountain pool. The building in the middle 1 Canada Square was the tallest in the UK until it was recently surpassed by the Shard. The picture was taken on a Tripod with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10 mm.. 3 raw images 2EV spacing. Opened in Photoshop first and each image noise reduced with Noiseware Pro and saved as tiffs. Photomatix The main image used was with the Photographic preset. However to get more detail in the sky and the fountain I also processed another version. Photoshop The main tonemapped image was opened first. Then the second one was pasted in as a new layer and excluded with a lay mask. A brush at middling opacitiy was used to bring more detail into the sky and fountain. Detail was brought back in with Topaz adjust with Vibrance presets group with Clarity preset with adjustments. Some areas, mainly highlights were excluded from the effect by applying Topaz on a duplicate layer with a layer mask. General adjustments in levels to enhance. Hue saturation adjustment layer yellows was used with a layer mask to bring up the lighting. The straighten tool was used to correct a slight tilt Filter, Lens correction, custom was used to correct verticals in the central 3 Buildings and then crop. Layers flattened before going on to sharpening. Duplicate layer Noiseware Pro and a little sharpening. Second duplicate layer with mask to apply extra sharpening and contrast with low amount and high radius using Unsharp mask (Clarity Effect) The settings were 47 amount and 47 radius. Tidy up with the clone brush. BEFORE AND AFTER Below are the Before and After images. The first image is the middle of the 3 exposures. Then the tonemapped image and then the final result.
