South Quay Footbridge Canary Wharf Night View
This is a view taken from the footbridge across South Quay looking towards the main Canary Wharf financial district in London. The problem with taking pictures here is a lot of people use it and the bridge vibrates more with more people. I had to wait for brief quieter moments. The picture was taken handheld and I had to up the ISO to 1600 to get shutter speed up to 1/6 second. Taken with a Sony A700 with a Samyang 8mm fisheye lens at f8. Photoshop A manual false HDR was completed by adjusting the RAW image for different exposures and bring these in as layers. Plus 4 EV was brought in as a new layer with a layer mask and applied only to parts of the skyscrapers to lighten these. Minus 2 EV was brought in and applied with a layer mask only to the light above the bridge to tone this down. A colour balance adjustment layer was used to tone down greens and bring up yellows and reds in the windows confining the effect to the lighted windows and with a layer mask to remove an over green look. Layers flattened before going on to sharpening. Dust and scratches filter to reduce noise. Second duplicate layer with mask to apply extra sharpening and contrast with low amount and high radius using Unsharp mask (Clarity Effect) The settings were 65 amount and 65 radius. Tidy up with the clone brush including removing over bright light in top right corner. BEFORE AND AFTER Below are the Before and After images. First the original image and then the final result.
